About The Book

The constant noise of contemporary life makes it easy to miss the most profound message the world has ever known: Jesus loves you. Innovative teachers Craig Gross and Jason Harper will separate the religious from the real as they show how this simple truth is worth our undivided attention. The authors weave Jesus' narrative with their own stories of serving among the "least of these" in this inspiring summons to world-changing faith. Join them as they encounter shut-ins, drunks, inmates, porn stars, and others while striving to follow Christ in their daily lives.

Tenacity to Tour

I am perplexed with dilemma.  How do you love someone who only understands hate?  How can love be viewed when some people view life with loathing optics?

In three days my flight takes off to the first stop of the Jesus Loves You This I Know Tour.  Jason and I will connect up in Kansas City and then make the drive over to Topeka.  In the midst of the tour, we both have a family, ministries, responsibilities, and so much more, none of which slows because a tour is rolling.  To say a person needs tenacity to tour is an understatement.

Rolling into Topeka, I will be filled with numerous emotions; anxiety, excitement, angst, vision, hope, and concern are all fighting for my attention.  In my heart, I can’t stand the illogical theology of the Phelps Clan the Westboro-ites.  The way I see it, the Westboro Church has exhibited to the world a false representation of scripture.  I believe those who prescribe to the Westboro theology are the same type of ring leaders behind the high-jacking of Jesus.  I believe they duck and cover to hide behind hate as their words ravage the wounded.  When I look at scripture, Jesus embraced the broken.  Their words are like spit upon the soul.  Is their view of scripture vomit of hate that defiles the centraility of the cross?  Despite that insanity, we choose to believe that they are deceived like any other lost person.  Does Jesus love them?  Yes, despite of them.  He died for the heretic.  It sounds ridiculous, but our hypocrisy would know no bounds, if we did not offer the religious the same message as the reprobate.

Fred, Shirley, and their entire family, despite my disgust, are included in the definition of ‘whosoever.’  It’s painful.  But we never thought it would be easy.

Tenacious,

Craig

Thank you for this book. Over 15 years ago after losing part of my family, I got kicked out of my church youth group years ago for being a "bad influence". That was when I lost my faith. The message that was given to me was not the message of love. Love was what I needed most back then. Learning about what you are doing is very healing for me. Thank you!
