The constant noise of contemporary life makes it easy to miss the most profound message the world has ever known: Jesus loves you. Innovative teachers Craig Gross and Jason Harper will separate the religious from the real as they show how this simple truth is worth our undivided attention. The authors weave Jesus' narrative with their own stories of serving among the "least of these" in this inspiring summons to world-changing faith. Join them as they encounter shut-ins, drunks, inmates, porn stars, and others while striving to follow Christ in their daily lives.
History.
Burnt. betrayed, let down, disillusioned; Ever been there? I have. Over time, engage in any interpersonal friendship and one of the previous words will introduce itself to you. It just happens. People are human.
Within faith circles, many feel duped. With the economy, many are broke. Within employment, some feel insecure. Out on the government horizon, state your opinion and it is two to one odds someone will disagree with whatever you believe.
Where ever you look in society there is uncertainty. Yet a faith in Christ, gives me a firm foundation to be able to state with certainty there are some things I KNOW!
One of the tools I wanted to provide in the book was a list of promises that Jason and I have held on to tightly with so many seasons of uncertainty. At the end of the book, we shared tips and tools that we need for daily growth and hope. These truths help so that when so many things are indifferent and unstable there are some anchors that we know we can cling to.
For more than 1600 years the scriptures were written by 40 different authors. Multiple continents covered and yet they tell the same story. It is a story about a Jesus who cares immensely about your circumstance, your family, your friends, and your wholeness.
We know that historically, even an educated skeptic confessed Jesus existed. We know archeologically, the lean of truth favors faith. To the evolutionist, the lack of transitional fossils creates a huge black hole of empty leaps of faith. To believe in science alone is more of stretch than to trust the love of outstretched arms on a cross.
Historically, hope favors you. THIS I KNOW.
