About The Book

The constant noise of contemporary life makes it easy to miss the most profound message the world has ever known: Jesus loves you. Innovative teachers Craig Gross and Jason Harper will separate the religious from the real as they show how this simple truth is worth our undivided attention. The authors weave Jesus' narrative with their own stories of serving among the "least of these" in this inspiring summons to world-changing faith. Join them as they encounter shut-ins, drunks, inmates, porn stars, and others while striving to follow Christ in their daily lives.

Broken But Together

by jason harper on Wed, Sep 16th 09 at 10:52PM

The last post talked about the consistent love of Jesus to affectively put ‘broken’ back together.  We have all been there…broken.  Sometimes the pain comes from within the church.  Yes, good people can go bad.  Intentionally or unintentionally people are betrayed.  Pain.  It’s real.

Yesterday at my church, we launched the Jesus Loves You Series.  The first message was geared toward the bitter and the betrayed.  I left moved by the words I heard.  Words that stuck to me were words like peace, amicable, civility, hope, and restoration.  Seated around me were people with different stories.  Some of their pain was known.  Some people’s pain was hidden.  Throughout scripture, stories are told of people who were betrayed and how they responded to it.    Some stayed healthy with hope.  Others responded and were weakened and stayed hurt.

Think Joseph.

Think Saul.

Think David.

Think Esther.

Think Jesus.

Think you.

How do you respond?  Where does this sit with you?  Is there some one waiting for you to apologize?  Is there some who may have missed it with you?  If so, release it today.

Consider this.  Find the person who you know and put this book in their hand.  If you can't get it for them, email them or text them and tell them about it.  Link them to Amazon.  It will matter.

Much hope and more love,

Jason Harper
